Secondo Graeme Souness, grande ex del Liverpool di fine anno ‘70 e inizio anni ‘80, il Manchester City è danneggiato dalle big europee che non vogliono avere un altro rivale. Lo definisce implicitamente un sistema mafioso col quale i powers that be vogliono mantenere lo status quo, un sistema nato dall’invidia verso un club che non era nulla e che ha “osato”, grazie alla fortuna avuta nell’essere comprati dagli sceicchi, sfidare l’ordine costituito.
Le sue parole sono chiare: “I think it's cruel on City. FFP was set up by the big clubs to protect themselves.
